Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you join the Eddy waitlist or visit this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We've tried to keep it short and in plain English.

1. Who we are

The data controller responsible for your information is Toby Redshaw, trading as “Eddy”, based in London, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at swimwitheddy@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

We do not ask for, or collect, any other personal details at this stage.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your email address solely to add you to our waitlist and to send you occasional updates about Eddy — most importantly, to let you know when it's ready for you. Our lawful basis for this is your consent, which you give by submitting your email. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see section 8).

4. The service we use to manage emails

We use Mailchimp (a product of Intuit Inc.) to store waitlist emails and send messages. Mailchimp acts as our data processor and only handles your information on our instructions. You can read Mailchimp's own privacy practices on their website.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our analytics tool, Umami, is cookieless and does not collect personal data or track you across other websites. This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required.

6. International transfers

Because Mailchimp is a US-based provider, your email address may be processed outside the UK. Where this happens, it is protected by appropriate safeguards (such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses).

7. How long we keep it

We keep your email only for as long as we run the waitlist, or until you ask us to remove it or unsubscribe — whichever comes first. After that, it is deleted.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, just email us at swimwitheddy@gmail.com.

9. Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from the waitlist immediately. You can also email us and we'll remove you.

10. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can contact us first, or make a complaint to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
